OIWA Oscar
28 Apr - 12 May 2009
Hong Kong

Oscar Oiwa was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1965 of Japanese descent and is now one of the most accomplished artists renowned for recording the impact of globalization. Currently based in New York, he has held numerous solo exhibitions around the world, and more notably in Japan such as the Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art and Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo. With amazing technical expertise and influences from Japanese art, Oiwa paints large multi-paneled oil paintings of landscapes that appear casual in style but contain deeper social meanings. Oscar Oiwa is a well respected artist whose works are also collected by important museums in Japan and the United States, and auctioned by Christie’s Hong Kong.

The solo exhibition will be held in our sister gallery at Connoisseur Contemporary.
